Scollay Square

A mosaic revealed in the T-Stop at Government Center. This is on the Blue Line platform which is one flight below the Green Line platform. Hence the "under" designation. Government Center was once called Scollay Square but the whole area was changed in the urban renewal movement of the 1970's.

Skating Prohibited

Walking through Government Center almost every day as I do, I see these J.F.K. Office Building towers in many different lights. I suppose many think this an ugly building. But watching the sunlight reflected on this building has changed my opinion. I like the juxtaposition of this sign in relation to the two towers. No skating is necessary here. Government Center is 7 acres of paved land. A skateboarder's dream.

New England Holocaust Memorial

Here is a view of Government Center through the glass of the New England Holocaust Memorial. The memorial has six million numbers etched into glass representing the six million Jews exterminated in the concentration camps.
