Symphony Hall

Symphony Hall stage during the intermission. The stage flooring was replaced in 2007 because the original was dangerously buckling. The original blueprints of the flooring were used to recreate the late 19th c. hardwood maple stage right down to the handmade nails. In this manner the hope was to not alter the acoustics of this magnificent hall. The project was successful. The flooring is very white because the maple was not stained & thus reflects much light.

Historical Marker

An historical marker next to a mill stone near the Rose Kennedy Greenway. I have noticed before that the marker was blank. I assumed that the mill stone was discovered in excavations for the Big Dig highway project in the area. Yesterday I noticed somebody wrote the equivalent of: "We ran out of history." I think the graffiti artist must have been in a rush and missed a word. Graffiti is aggressively prosecuted in Boston.
